One of the highlights for us of the UK events calendar is always the Royal International Air Tattoo (often abbreviated to RIAT). This is the world's largest military air show, held annually at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, in support of The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust. There are very few more quintessentially British events than the Henley Royal Regatta, which took place recently. Established in 1839, this is an annual rowing event on the River Thames, by the town of Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. The regatta lasts for six days, and attracts international crews to race head-to-head knock out competitions, raced over the course of 1 mile 550 yards. The Lytham Festival, which took place recently, is an annual 5-day music festival held in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire. It originally took place in 2009 and has a capacity of around 20,000. The line-up for 2023 included Jamiroquai, George Ezra, Sting, Lionel Richie and Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe, amongst others.
